Before the opening of the 31st "China International Glass Industry Technology Exhibition" in 2021, the 9th "International Advanced Glass Seminar" will be held in Donghua University from May 4 to 5. Yu Jianyong, president of Donghua University and academician of the CAE Member, Song Lixin, director of the Shanghai Institute of Silicate, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tan Fu, secretary-general of the Chinese Silicate Society, and Zhao Wanbang, vice president and secretary-general of the China Daily Glass Association, delivered speeches on behalf of the sponsor. President Yu Jianyong gave a welcome speech and introduced the origin of the school and the advanced glass field, as well as its contribution to serving the national strategy and industry development needs. Secretary General Tan Fu, Secretary General Zhao Wanbang and Song Lixin respectively introduced the development of glass industry in China, China's daily use glass and Shanghai.
With the theme of "energy conservation and environmental protection, resource reuse and new processes and materials", more than 200 experts and representatives from universities, enterprises and research institutes at home and abroad attended the seminar. During the two-day seminar, 53 academic reports were presented in five aspects, including theoretical simulation of glass manufacturing, academic research, equipment and materials, production practice, and thermal furnaces. Foreign guests Li Hong, chief scientist of Japan's NEG Company, Stuart Hawkes, general manager of British FIC Company, Jiang Shibin, general manager of American AdValue Photonics Inc, and Fawzy Mohamed, manager of Egypt's Asfour Group, reported on the conference in the form of online video, and had in-depth exchanges and discussions with the participants. At the closing ceremony of the conference, the Excellent Papers Award of the Journal of Glass Enamel and Glasses 2019-2020 sponsored by Donghua University was presented, and 15 excellent papers won awards and trophies. (Association draft)
